Happy Grandparent's Day!

How many of you know that there IS a "Grandparent's Day"?!
I think we're getting the short-end-of-the-stick!
I've never seen a mushy Hallmark commercial for a card for us grandparents.
Have you?

This year it falls on Sunday, September 12th.
So I'd like to say, to all the grandmothers and grandfathers,
and to everyone that also has that role in someones life -
"Thank you and God bless you for all that you do.
May you have a wonderful Grandparent's Day
surrounded by all those that you love and that love you!!
Enjoy your special day!!"

The above two photographs are of my grandparents.

This is my children's maternal grandfather - my father.

This is my children's maternal grandmother - my mother.

And here is one of our grandchildren's grandfathers - my husband.

And here is one of their grandmothers - lucky me!! :)

  2. Gabriele- What a lovely, lovely family you have. I think you look a lot like your Mother-what a beautiful woman. I, like you, have such a sense of heritage. I'm sure you are passing that on to your grandchildren and I hope that at least one of them has that deep sense of historical connection.

I did NOT know it was grandparent's day. Hmmmm...that might be worth a nice little present, or two, if I could work it into the conversation~ lol Of course, the best present, is the kids themselves!

Hugs-thanks for popping by my blog and commenting...xxoo Diana

  5. Lol loved those quotes you posted. They really had alot of humor as well as knowledge of how hard it is to raise grandkids. My grandmother must've had a crazy time raising me, I'm pretty sure I was a handful.

  7. Thanks for finding me at Cozy Blanket. I love your blog. I will be back to read more. Grandkids are a real gift from God, aren't they. I am hurrying as my Ohio ones are coming for lunch and to celebrsate Piper's 1st birthday. Piper is our Springer Spaniel. I still have to do the table and bake cupcakes. So funny, huh.

  11. What children need most are the essentials that grandparents can provide in abundance, unconditional love, kindness, patience, humor, comfort, lessons in life and most importantly

    COOKIES!

  12. A beautiful family - and some rather witty sentiments expressed at the end of your post.

I just hope one of my sons will bless me with a Grandchild. I hope.

  20. We've just had a great summer, where my kids got to spend time with each of their grandparents, for once. A couple of the grandparents seem to be following Gene Perret's idea of grandparenting a little too closely, mind...
