The Love Of Art Continues

With this one. My just-turned fourteen year old grandbrat.
(I love this kid!)

On my last visit, I was able to snag some of her wonderful paintings for these photos.
I think most of them were painted in acrylics.

A collage, with a painted self-portrait.

Told ya.

I love these bright colors.

And the bit of gold on the bottom.

Speaking of gold, this was done using a pen with gold ink.

And another one I wanted! A copy of one of my favorite artist's paintings - Vincent Van Gogh.

One afternoon while watching TV, I turned around and there she was, on the kitchen floor,
making a 'friendship bracelet'. I secretly hoped it was for me. :)
Jeez! I want everything, don't I?!

I love the hands.

And the concentration.

And the hair.

I see she got creative with the nail polish too.

So pretty, but SO time-consuming.

Yayyy!! She gave me this one! It will be framed and displayed, forever!

And as if painting wasn't enough - the girl does photography too.
She not only takes the photographs, she develops them as well!

This is the only one I found to take a close up of. It doesn't do it justice.

It was wonderful spending time with this one!!

And that one!! Her sister... my eighteen year old grandbrat.
(I love that kid too!!)
Another one that loves art and is sooo talented!

But that's another story, for another day. ~

There are SO many things to love!
I love "Followers" and comments too!
Thank you.

Signing off for now,

  1. And she just turned 14, you're kidding. Does she realize the talent she has. Wow. I love the painting she gave you. She will have a bright future.

  2. Debby, thank you so much for your nice comment!
I'll pass it on to her.

  3. She's wonderfully creative and talented as well. Help her not lose it as she grows up. It's a dangerous time for creativity.

  4. Marilynne, thank you for your kind words. And you are so right!
Kids have no fear... then they grow up and doubt themselves.
We're all doing our part to keep that from happening!

  5. Hard to belive she is only 14 and has so much talent. What a life waiting for her and I am sure Grandma will show her the way. By the was my grand daughter Michelle (14)is also into bracelets.Love her with all my heart.

  6. Rita, thank you for your nice comment. You bet that I'll be helping in any way I can, with her art.
I'm so excited that the art continues in our family! Her mother, my daughter, is a fabulous artist, as were my parents.
So your Michelle is also creative? That's awesome!
    Grandchildren... such special creatures.

  7. she is beautiful; she is creative; and she is worthy of your pride. I'm so glad she got through the time when kids believe they no longer have, or never had, talent. I cry remembering those times in my kids' lives and hope never to see it in my grandchildren.

    Revel in it!

  8. And THUS it is PROVEN--the talent is indeed in the genes! I was SO impressed!

  9. Hello there! What a talented and beautiful grandaughter you have. Her work is lovely! Have a good week. Ros

  10. Lorna, Lora and snoopydog, (Ros) -
Thank you for all of your sweet comments! They're much appreciated!
And a good week to you as well.

Lorna, that makes me think of a quote... it goes something like this; "Remember how talented you thought you were, before someone told you you weren't?" So sad.

  11. Talented and cute- great combination! What's that about the nut not falling too far from the tree?

  12. Grandmother, thank you. And funny you should mention 'nut'. She IS a nut! One of the funniest kids I know!! :)

  13. Wow, she has the love of art AND the talent. I love the variety and color and abstract whimsy of of her work, and then she does this amazing realism and photography, too. well, she has wonderful inspiration in you. I know you will nurture her talent as she grows. She had the gift.

love to you, my dear friend, and thank you for your comment this weekend.

  14. Incredible work by that youngster. She clearly takes after her grandmother. Lovely art, lovely girl (and so is her sister...and their grandma!).

    Have an awesome holiday weekend!

  15. Angella and Lisa, thank you SO very much for your sweet comments and compliments!! They're much appreciated!!

Wishing you all a great 4th of July!!

  16. Wow. She's talented. Pretty eyes, skin and hair. She's quite her 'own self'. That's a good thing!
