I love moss!!
I was so happy to get these pictures, on a recent trip to Oregon.
It had stopped raining and the sun was peeking through.
But I was really cold. (I'm such a wimp!)
I began with this gorgeous view from a window, before I put on my layers of clothing and braved the cold outside. (Wimpy, wimpy, wimpy!)
No words necessary ~
Lalalalalalaaa... oh, sorry... I can't shut-up for that long.
Glorious moss!!
What wonderful paintings these would make!!
As some of you know, I paint silk accessories now, like this scarf.
I used to paint fabrics for dancers as well as for the stage. A ton of fun!!
This is my granddaughter as a kid, wearing one of my pieces in "Firebird".
She just turned eighteen!! Slow down, girl!!
But before I became a silk-painter, I painted in oils. Here are some of my paintings.
I've also painted landscapes on silk, using silk paints. This is one of them.
So, not only do I have to decide which photographs to use as inspiration for a painting,
but also which medium to use. Decisions, decisions!!
But fun decisions!! I'll let you know the outcome. ~

Great photos! What coincidence; last week we went to this Park/ rainforest here in Victoria and I have never seen so much moss. It was covering trees like a velvet coat.

The moss is thick and luscious, but your paintings- very lovely!
ReplyDeleteI knew, before I started going through your photos, that I love moss. Now I LURVE it.
ReplyDeleteYOu are even more talented than I suspected. You have a true artist's eye and, even better, a true artist's heart. I can see your love of life come through in all your work. I used to do costuming for theater too...although I never painted a costume I sewed many, many, many of them! xxoo Diana
ReplyDeleteYour talent is UNBELIEVABLE. I flunked coloring in the first grade and its all been downhill since then, BUT I recognize true brilliance when I see it!
ReplyDeleteyou are an artist in every medium! moss is nature's clothing, so lush, so velvety, so green. i can't wait to see the art you create from your wonderful pictures. love to you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! As a moss lover myself, I feel your urge to paint it! Love the scarf too.
